A lighter alternative: i-Explore 2
The KikkaBoo i-Explore 2 (40–150 cm) weighs just 6.5 kg and has a 14-position headrest, which makes it handy if you often move the seat between cars. It is used rear-facing from 40 to 105 cm and forward-facing from 100 to 150 cm (UN R129/04). The manufacturer's official description does not mention rotation or the installation method, so check the manual before you buy.
Which KikkaBoo car seat should you choose?
- Lightest with ISOFIX: i-Round (9.3 kg) – a good fit for smaller cars and for parents who move the seat now and then.
- Extra protection at a fair price: i-Van (9.8 kg) adds a rebound bar and a magnetic harness holder to the Top Tether, making buckling up easier.
- For cars without a Top Tether anchor: i-Drive or i-Twist with a support leg.
- Most comfort on long journeys: i-Hike with a 15-position headrest and 5 recline positions in both directions.

Top Tether or support leg – which suits your car?
Both systems stop the seat from rotating forward in a crash. A Top Tether is a strap that clips to the anchor point behind the rear seat back (often in the boot). A support leg rests on the car floor; if there is an under-floor storage compartment, check whether your car manufacturer allows it. Always check the vehicle compatibility list and your car's handbook before buying.

Every model in the table can be used rear-facing up to 105 cm and forward-facing from 76 cm.
