The differences lie in details that matter every day – weight, folded length, suspension and what you get for a newborn in the box. Balios S Lux: the lighter everyday pushchair
The Balios S Lux is designed for city life but, according to the manufacturer, also copes well with less even paths. Frame and front-wheel suspension plus large puncture-proof wheels soften kerbs and cobbles, and the seat can face you or the world and recline to a fully flat position. Its key advantage is weight: at 11.2 kg it is 1.3 kg lighter than the Talos and 8 cm shorter when folded.

Talos S Lux: the all-terrain pushchair with a carrycot included
The Talos S Lux has off-road suspension in the frame and front wheels, puncture-proof wheels and mudguards on the rear wheels that keep mud and water off. The manufacturer includes a Soft Cot carrycot free of charge, so you can use it from birth without buying anything extra. The handlebar adjusts to 4 positions with one hand, and the folded stroller stands on its own even with the seat attached.

Differences in everyday use
City pavements or gravel and forest
On tarmac, cobbles and kerbs you will hardly notice a difference – both have suspension and puncture-proof wheels. If you often walk on gravel, forest trails or grass, the Talos has the edge: off-road suspension and mudguards that protect the pushchair and you. In town, the Balios is a little easier to lift up steps or onto a bus.
Car boot
Both are 60 cm wide and approx. 78 cm high when folded; the difference is length: the folded Balios measures 45 cm, the Talos 53 cm. In a smaller boot those 8 cm can decide whether there is still room for a bag. Measure your boot (depth, width and height of the opening) before buying and compare it with the table. The Fold Cot folds to 56 × 43 × 21 cm, even while attached to the frame.
Weight when lifting
The 1.3 kg difference (11.2 vs 12.5 kg) is noticeable when you lift the pushchair into the boot several times a day, carry it up stairs without a lift or put it away in storage. If you live in a flat without a lift, the Balios is more practical.
Winter, rain and snow

- Balios S Lux 2-in-1 with Cot S Lux: the pushchair with a classic newborn carrycot – for example the Balios S Lux 2-in-1 with Cot S Lux.
- Balios S Lux 2-in-1 with Fold Cot: the carrycot (birth to approx. 6 months or 9 kg) folds on the frame or separately, saving space at home and in the car – for example the Balios S Lux 2-in-1 with Fold Cot.

An infant car seat on the pushchair is handy for short errands; for longer walks and sleep use the carrycot or the lie-flat seat and follow the car seat manufacturer's instructions.

Are they suitable for jogging?
No. Cybex presents them as an all-round (Balios) and an all-terrain pushchair (Talos) for walking and does not list jogging as a use. Dedicated jogging strollers are designed for running.
What is the difference between the 2026 version and earlier models?
The change is bigger for the Talos S Lux: Cybex lists 14.2 kg for the 2024 version and 12.5 kg for the current one; the Soft Cot is now included and a set with the Talos Fold Cot is available. For the Balios S Lux, Cybex highlights the one-pull harness, improved suspension, a 10 kg shopping basket and new colours. What do independent tests say?
In its pushchair test (published 7/2025), Stiftung Warentest tested the previous version of the Balios S Lux with a carrycot and rated it "befriedigend" (satisfactory, 2.8; in German grading a lower number is better). Durability was rated "very good", handling, safety and harmful substances "good", and child-friendliness "satisfactory". The rating does not necessarily apply to the 2026 version. We found no published independent test of the Talos S Lux.
